North London Mosque Trust (NLMT): AKA Masjid-e-Quba

North London Mosque Trust (NLMT) also known as Masjid-e-Quba is situated in the northern part of the London Borough of Hackney in an area called Stamford Hill. It has been catering for the needs (prayers, tarbiyyah, madrassah, weddings and funeral services) of the local muslims in Stamford Hill and its surrounding areas since 1970 when it was located on Forburg Road.

The local muslims in the area are mainly from Gujarat, India who first came to the area as early as the 1950's. The area now has many musIims from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Somalia, Turkey and various Arab countries. To further provide for the needs of the community ,responsible brothers and sisters have also set up a Muslim girls school, Muslim boys School, Muslim community/youth centre and a Muslim Housing Association all located more or less on the same road and next door buildings. The current muslim population is approximately ### families. Over the past years the masjid has also strengthened its relationship with those from other faith communities such as the local Hassidic Jewish community and local churches. The masjid is also involved with local authorities and has held diversity training for local police officers.

After the salat finishes it is sunnah to recite Istigfar 3 times. The reason for this is that obviously during salat we might get thoughts about something else. The Istigfar is there to rectify any shortcoming in our salat.
 
Translation for "Astagfirallah" is "I seek forgiveness from Allah".
To say Istigfar 3 times after salat is not some cultural tradition but actually from the sunnah of the prophet (peace be upon him)
